After one of the London Fashion Week shows we attended, Sarah and I headed to The Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell. It is known for being one of the best afternoon tea’s in London according to Vogue and they also have a location in Marylebone. We were also told that their afternoon tea is very traditional by British standards.
The Zetter Townhouse is “an independent collection of hotels and restaurants with bags of personality and pioneering eco-credentials. Once credited with reinventing the boutique hotel concept, they are a business that likes to do things a little differently.” -via their website
Like I said before, we had afternoon tea at the Clerkenwell location, and upon arrival, you are greeted by a bright blue door. The service was amazing and the staff who waited on us were super attentive.
The ambiance is traditional furniture with warm hues and an inviting vibe. There are beautiful chairs and seating areas in the dining area with a bar along the end of one side. They are known for their superb cocktails, and sensational parties.
I had traditional English Breakfast Tea and Sarah ordered a glass of champagne. The finger sandwiches and sweets that we were served during our afternoon tea was nothing short of lovely. You can check out their afternoon tea menu here!
Although we didn’t stay at the hotel, the rooms from what I see online and on their Instagram look very inviting and cozy. I would definitely go back to The Zetter Townhouse during my next trip to London and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great afternoon tea spot or just a great spot for cocktails!
