Baby Pruitt’s baby shower was such a beautiful event that we hosted at my aunt and uncles house. We ended up invited over 100 people. Yes! Over 100 people. How that happened? I have no idea. But I have to say, Baby Pruitt has so many family and friends who love him so much already and are so excited to meet him!
In terms of decorations, I bought almost everything from Amazon and it was delivered super fast! I decided to do a greenery, gold and white theme as the color palette, and I really love how it all came together. Of course, I was so busy that day that I didn’t get any photos, but I have compiled a few that family and friend took, so forgive me for not having photos of everything.
For centerpieces, I always go with Trader Joe flowers. They are so beautiful, they last the longest and are definitely the most affordable. We used a bunch of mason jars to place the white roses, white hydrangea’s, babies breath and eucalyptus in. I absolutely loved this combination of flowers. It went perfectly with our color scheme.
For games, my mom and my sister were in charge of coordinating and picking those. We ended up playing 3 games: the string guessing game where all the guests try to guess the size of my stomach; guess the baby item in the bag game where there were 16 items in a bag and guests have to feel the bag and guess what is inside the bag; due date game where there were two calendars and guests had to guess the date and time that Baby Pruitt will arrive (which is my favorite)!
We ended up going with Italian for food and everyone was super happy! It was a labor of love because my mom and dad did meatballs and salad, my grandmother did a whole lot of baked ziti and sausage and peppers, and we ordered garlic rolls from one of our favorite Italian restaurants. We kept it simple, but it was perfect! Also, everyone chipped in for dessert where we had cheesecake, my grandmother’s ricotta cake, rum cake, chocolate chip cookies, and a deep dark chocolate cake.
I initially wanted to only do a charcuterie board with finger foods for the main meal, but because we were having so many people, we decided to do a charcuterie board for the appetizers! My best friend’s mom came to the rescue with plating the charcuterie board, because of course, in true Brittany’s family fashion, we were running late the day of the shower. So my best friends mom and dad came a few minutes early and were plating the charcuterie board as guests were arriving.
Oh, and my dad’s fruit salad deserves an award! Look at how amazing his baby fruit salad turned out! Everyone was so impressed. That is some amazing artwork there!
Our baby boy was so spoiled and received so many beautiful gifts from everyone. I am still going through and organizing all of the amazing gifts he received to prepare for his arrival!
Lastly, I just want to say thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from near and far to attend our baby’s shower! Your love for him is so amazing and we are so grateful to have such amazing people in our lives! And a special thank you to my family and friends who helped coordinate, plan and execute this baby shower. I love you more than anything. Thank you for putting up with my crazy party ideas and for allowing me to have a big party for my baby boy!
