Right before we had Monaco, we purchased our first home! We had a new baby coming and a new home to settle into, so needless to say, we had a lot going on! We closed on the house on Wednesday, February 26, moved in on Friday, February 28, and Monaco decided to make his grand entrance on Saturday, February 29!
It has been quite the whirlwind, settling into our new home with a new baby. Nothing was in place when Monaco arrived, but thank goodness for our family, who did a lot of our cleaning, organizing, and putting things together as I healed from having the baby.
We have been ordering things little by little, and I have been sharing the updates on my Instagram (@bisousbrittany). We ordered all of the bigger items like the couches, tables and chairs, tv’s, rugs, etc. Now, I have just been adding the final decor touches like throw pillows and blankets, hanging mirrors and photos on the walls, and getting curtains up.
We do have some long term plans for fixing up the house like adding a pool, changing the windows and front door, painting a few rooms, and a few more things, but those things will happen eventually.
For now, I just want to share some of the progress we have made. If you see the before and after photos of our home, its pretty drastic because we were able to have the downstairs painted a few days after the baby arrived. And I am so happy we did, because the walls in the house were a very dark color, and not well painted. So we decided to hire people to paint the downstairs. The wall paint is by Benjamin Moore and it is called Barren Plain. It is the perfect pale gray color and really brightens up the house!
